Oral mucositis (OM) occurs in 20 to 40% of the patients undertake conventional chemo therapy (CT) and practically all patients with head and neck squamous carcinoma (HNSC) undergoing radio therapy (RT). Common symptoms of OM include pain, bleeding, ulcers, difficulty ingesting fluids or solids and speaking.

They are trying to formulate a gel for the treatment of Radiation and chemotherapy induced mucositis. Oral mucositis (OM) is a painful inflammatory and frequently ulcerative disorder of the oral mucosa that severely reduces the patient’s quality of life.
