The proposed project aims to address  by the need for developing an indigenous biocompatible coating for Indian & global implant manufacturers. The objective is to develop a coating that will promote bone ingrowth & which will circumvent bacterial colonization, biofilm formation & present efficacy against Gram-negative &Gram-positive bacteria.

The proposed coating will demonstrate 90% antibacterial efficacy & enhanced bone in growth. To evaluate the coating characteristics, elaborate biological, physical & chemical assessments will be performed in a systematically designed experimentation plan. The coating will allow localized antibacterial activity & enhanced bone in-growth, thereby minimizing risk of infection & aseptic loosening.
